Celebrating National Library Workers Day at Okolona Carnegie Library

Tuesday, April 21, 2026 marks National Library Workers Day (NLWD), and the Okolona Area Chamber of Commerce/Main Street is proud to join the nationwide celebration recognizing the invaluable contributions of library professionals. This special day highlights their expertise, leadership, and dedication to transforming lives and communities through education and lifelong learning.

Library workers serve as community compasses, guiding individuals to countless opportunities for engagement, enrichment, and personal development. We are especially grateful for Mrs. Barbara Carouthers, Librarian at the Okolona Carnegie Library, whose commitment and service make a lasting difference right here in Okolona.

We invite you to stop by the Okolona Carnegie Library at 321 West Main Street, Okolona, MS 38860 to express your appreciation and discover the resources available. The library is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Please note that the library is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Thank you, Mrs. Carouthers, for your dedication to our community. Happy National Library Workers Day!
